From October 6–8, 2026, Amsterdam transformed into the epicenter of the Atlassian ecosystem, gathering thousands of innovators, partners, and IT leaders at Atlassian Team ’26 Europe.
Following our deep dive into the US conference earlier this year, our team from Nemetschek Bulgaria was eager to see how Atlassian’s vision has matured. As noted in our internal discussions regarding the comparison with the US, the emphasis on context was a major theme there as well. However, Amsterdam made something entirely new and crucial crystal clear: AI has transitioned into a multiplayer mode, and the focus has shifted squarely onto autonomous agents (Agentic Workflows) and agents acting as equal teammates.
Here are our key takeaways, announcements, and strategic insights from the event, enriched by our team's internal notes.
The Architecture of the AI Era: Teamwork Graph and the Business Model
During the keynote presentations and Partner Accelerate day, the foundations of the new technological and economic reality were laid:
Models are the engine, context is the fuel
Mike Cannon-Brookes emphasized that Rovo builds upon the Teamwork Graph (which now counts over 250+ billion connections and encompasses 7 types of context) combined with an AI Gateway for model flexibility (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral).
Shift from seats to usage
Signals from Amsterdam indicate that only about 10% of users actively use Rovo. Following market leaders (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft), Atlassian is moving toward a hybrid model (subscription + consumption), which will transform revenues and partner remuneration, as well as the demand for Professional Services optimization.
Agents as Teammates: AMP, Rovo Work, and New Features
The conference introduced a true revolution in how humans and AI collaborate:
AMP Protocol (Agentic Multiplayer Protocol)
Allows agents to work in a team with humans, providing shared context, identity, limited permissions, a shared context, and an audit trail.
Rovo Work and Artifacts
The new Rovo Work mode allows setting complex goals and executing them in a controlled environment after an approved plan. Artifacts provides a permanent address for AI-generated pages, dashboards, and apps that embed directly into Confluence, Jira, and Slack with automatic updates.
Agent panels and Jira Agent Sessions
Tools like Loom for Agents (video tasks and interactive PR reviews) and upcoming Jira Agent Sessions enable teams to monitor progress, unblock agents when input data is needed, and delegate tasks to external agents (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex) directly from the Jira board.
Service Management and Developer Experience (DX)
Autonomous ITSM
Jira Service Management upgrades with the Incident Command Center (ICC), change risk assessments, and automated task generation for new employee onboarding.
Effectiveness Metrics
Measurement tools have been introduced, such as Agent Effectiveness, Model Fit Score (to optimize between expensive and cheaper models), and AI Capital Management to track budgets and the ratio between AI costs and labor.

Security, Sovereignty, and EU Regulations
Considering the European market, security and compliance took center stage:
EU AI Inference
Data storage and LLM inference are secured within Europe, meeting the requirements of the EU AI Act. Rovo itself now holds the ISO 42001 certification for artificial intelligence management.
Protection and Audit
New Guard policies, data masking, and centralized auditing give enterprises full control over non-human identity profiles and privacy within connectors.
Real-World Results: Cisco's Success
To demonstrate the effectiveness of these new technologies at scale, a case study was presented featuring Cisco, which achieved 40x faster report automation using Rovo and 54% lower annual tooling costs.
What Does This Mean for Us and Our Clients?
The trip to Amsterdam provided us with a clear direction for new consulting service directions and technical expertise:
Rovo Readiness & AI SDLC
Assisting clients with connector setup, usage policies, training, and the management of permissions and metrics for agents.
Safe AI Pilots and Compliance Consulting
Establishing Guardrails, data masking, AI cost budgeting, and aligning with the EU AI Act.
Solution Development and Integrations
Focusing on added value in the Marketplace through unique business logics, context quality score solutions (Context Quality Score), and advanced enterprise apps.
